Ordering repeat medication

The easiest way to order repeat medication is:

Use the NHS app to see and order your regular medications. It is the easiest way to order.

You can also:

  • fill out a repeat prescriptions request form
  • hand the completed repeat prescription slip to reception
  • order via the Medicines Order Line 01246 588860

You can reorder your regular medication until it is time for your annual medication review.

We do not take repeat prescription requests over the phone at the practice as this can lead to mistakes.

Collecting your prescription

Information:

We send most prescriptions to your pharmacy electronically. Your medication make take up to 5 days to be ready for collection at the pharmacy.

Paper medication requests for collection can take up to 3 days to be processed by the practice.

Green paper prescriptions can take up to 3 days to be processed by the Pharmacy.

You will need to choose a pharmacy to collect your medication from. We call this nominating a pharmacy.

You can change your nominated pharmacy at any time:

  • on the NHS app or website where you order repeat medication
  • at any pharmacy that accepts repeat prescriptions

Questions about your prescription

If you have questions about your medicine, your local pharmacists can answer these. They can also answer questions on medicines you can buy without a prescription.

What to do with old medicines

Take it to the pharmacy you got it from. Do not put it in your household bin or flush it down the toilet.

About pharmacists

As qualified healthcare professionals, pharmacists can offer advice on minor illnesses such as:

  • coughs
  • colds
  • sore throats
  • tummy trouble
  • aches and pains

They can also advise on medicine that you can buy without a prescription.

Many pharmacies are open until late and at weekends. You do not need an appointment.

Most pharmacies have a private room where you can discuss issues with pharmacy staff.
